Attention Accounting Majors or Recent College Grads!


The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to learn more about the daily accounting tasks and activities. In this role, the Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to leverage what they have learned in college to perform accounting functions. They will assist in the day-to-day accounting, monthly reconciliations, as well as other general accounting related activities. The schedule will be flexible hours Monday-Friday, onsite, approximately 16-20 hours/week, or additional, as schedule allows. You will be required to work on-site at our Bedford Park location, about one mile south of Chicago Midway Airport.


*Please note that this is a paid internship and also we will support students who are seeking an internship to earn college credit.*


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the monthly accounting close process by preparing/reviewing/inputting journal entries in the accounting system.
  • Review and preparation of general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist with various cash management processes involving data input and payment reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports to be presented to Senior Management. Become familiar with components of financials, income statements, balance sheets, cashflow statements.
  • Review of bank account activity and preparation of bank account reconciliations.
  • Use of spreadsheets to maintain balances for various general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with the company budget process by reviewing reports on actual and budget totals.
  • Provide general admin support for the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent college graduate or currently enrolled in a college Accounting program.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must!**
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft applications, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
