While more veterans are finding jobs, women are not! Finding a career after serving in the military is arguably the first priority for transitioning service members but even with overall veteran unemployment down, the job outlook for women veterans remains bleak. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that veteran unemployment - is down.
The national unemployment rate is only 3.8%, and yet, unemployment for women veterans is constantly increasing. Women veterans are often single mothers; often the ones who, even though we may be of higher education rates than our male counterparts, are often underemployed if not unemployed. Many of the similar trends that reflect unemployment in civilian women are similar for women veterans.
