JOB DESCRIPTION

KTTV is seeking a Meteorologist who is an excellent and professional communicator and presenter, possesses a strong science background and is able to explain the weather story by utilizing graphics and video in a way that explains various weather conditions and helps viewers prepare for their day.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for winning weather even on regular days by helping viewers plan their day. We are looking for a dynamic presenter with the ability to adlib and someone who can build dynamic weather graphics with the WSI system as well as report on live traffic conditions during assigned newscasts

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or closely related field preferred; AMS Certification preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience as Meteorologist in medium to large market

Fluent with new and emerging weather graphics and technology

Demonstrated experience in dynamic and engaging weather presentations

Strong communication skills (written/oral)

Ability to work under pressure while meeting daily assigned deadlines

Operational knowledge of WSI weather systems preferred

Fluent with social media platforms and social management tools, including Facebook, Twitter, etc

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $69.72-91.35 per hour for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
