About the Role:

As a Sr. HR Generalist, you will provide extensive support with your HR Director in all aspects of the HR functions including employee relations and process improvement. This role requires a strategic mindset, self-motivation, a thorough understanding of FMLA/ADA compliance, and proficiency in benefits and compensation administration. As a pivotal member of our HR team, the Sr. HR Generalist will partner with their HR Director to implement HR strategies, manage programs within designated client groups, including proactive engagement, attending client group meetings, and offering senior/lead support for diverse HR initiatives. Collaborates with HR-specialty teams to develop and deliver HR programs and guidelines, and solutions to increase employee engagement and achieve the company and HR team goals.

Your contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and leaders on employee relations investigations, disciplinary action, performance management and terminations

  • Consulting and advising managers and employees with regard to employee relations issues including investigation, problem/conflict resolution, disciplinary action and termination

  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances, recommending solutions that ensure fair and consistent outcomes

  • Coordinates the implementation of process improvements to streamline HR operations and enhance employee experiences

  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze HR data and identify trends or areas for improvement

  • High comprehension with FMLA/ADA regulations, including partnering with leaders on how to manage leave requests and accommodations

  • Advising managers and employees concerning compensation, benefits, and employee services as well as provide training in accordance with policies, procedures and practices

  • Takes ownership of client group programs from inception to completion, requiring minimal direction from supervisor

  • Actively participate in client group meetings, fostering strong relationships and understanding client group needs and challenges

  • Collaborate with HR team members and cross-functional partners to support organizational goals and initiatives

  • Stay updated on relevant HR laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

  • Navigate complex HR related situations at all levels of the company and contribute to the decision making process

  • Participating as a strategic business partner to management team in the design, implementation and evaluation of multi-functional solutions to business problems

  • Assisting with other tasks or special projects as assigned by manager

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources or related field and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in human resources with exposure to and demonstrated competence in all functional areas OR

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field and 2+ years of related experience OR

  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP certification is highly preferred

  • Preferred experience: HR generalist in the life science or related industry, and HRIS

  • Strong understanding of FMLA/ADA regulations.

  • Proficiency in understanding benefits and compensation administration

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Proven track record of successfully managing programs or projects from start to finish

  • Highly engaged and committed to supporting client groups and organizational goals

  • Excellent computer skills, strong knowledge in Microsoft package including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in legal risk assessment as well as the application of employment law in most HR business situations

  • Strong understanding and practical application of federal, state and local labor regulations and policies is required; and ability to apply based on situation

  • Ability to deal effectively and confidentially with employees at all levels within a diverse workforce regarding HR related topics

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $93,200.00-$135,275.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
