Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at CMSRU and contribute to a groundbreaking project focused on elucidating the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying minor traumatic brain injury (TBI) and its long-term neurological consequences. As part of this multidisciplinary initiative, you will utilize mice and eventually porcine models to investigate the effects of mechanical force transmission to the brain, employing novel injury methods to induce precise and repeatable mechanical insults. Your responsibilities will include conducting concurrent electrical recordings to track neuronal signaling alterations, flow cytometry, performing behavioral monitoring and medical imaging to assess long-term effects, and investigating the role of specific proteins. Additionally, you will explore pharmacological modulation to elucidate their contribution to disease development and conduct postmortem analyses to assess histological and epigenetic changes. This study offers a unique opportunity to advance our understanding of minor TBI pathophysiology and its implications for neurological and psychiatric diseases, ultimately paving the way for targeted therapeutic interventions. If you are passionate about neuroscience research and eager to make a meaningful impact in the field, we encourage you to apply. This is an on-site position at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ, which is right next to Philadelphia.
