Position Summary

To provide quality customer service and assistance to members, clients, and customers coming in the Arts & Education Center.

Essential Functions

  • Provide great customer service to the community; see that all customers, clients, and members are given prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintain all Kroc Center cash handling policies; appropriately accepting transactions, verifying daily deposits, and maintenance of till bag.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, be out-going, and enjoy building relationships with a variety of members.
  • Complete sale transactions for all Performing Arts & Education classes/programs.
  • Offer information to guests regarding full product availability to best meet customer needs.
  • Appropriately communicate information about all Kroc Center programs and membership options.
  • Assist with minor event set-ups & activities and ensure general venue safety. Communication facility issues to the appropriate person(s).
  • Oversee member & customer interactions as related to Protecting the Mission policies.
  • Provide information and answer questions about available programs.
  • Adhere to RJKCCC operations as well as all policy procedures as adopted by Administration.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend staff meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 10lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Must have or obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, & supervisors.
  • Must comply with all applicable business, employment, and copyright laws.
  • Maintain a drug and alcohol free work environment.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customer, clients, members, and staff.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Previous customer service and point-of-sale experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all client information.
  • Have the ability to work with children, parents, staff, and a variety of age groups in a capacity of leadership, counseling, and education.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.
  • Thrive in a team-oriented environment. Be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure.
  • Ability to empathize and communication with low-income and vulnerable people.
