Raymond West is looking for a dedicated Support Manager - Rental Equipment to join our team! This position will manage and oversee the daily activities of the Rental support staff. Evaluates rental processes, collaborates with other departments, and communicates with all levels of employees, customers, and supporting entities. Responsible for the day-to-day management of rental activity at the "tactical" level. Enables the Rental Manager to better focus on operational and strategic level initiatives to improve overall department effectiveness and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.

  • Manage staff in an assigned area to include planning and assigning projects/tasks to staff, making hiring, separation, and disciplinary recommendations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure staff development and coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Provide leadership for assigned staff.
  • Manage employee's timecard utilizing the company's time and attendance system.
  • Manage the operational activities within the Rental Department.
  • Develop, organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure achievement of Rental Department goals.
  • Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance.
  • Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets.
  • Direct and prepare reports for the Rental Manager.
  • Participate in company or department projects.
  • Ensure employees and team are following all company policies.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Demonstrate drive and initiative.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Demonstrate capability to make sound decisions.
  • Monitor the daily goals and objectives of the Rental Department, and report corrective actions and potential impacts.
  • Work closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and supporting entities both verbally and in writing.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Manage key rental accounts on a day-to-day basis, interacting directly with sales representatives and internal/external staff to ensure levels of service are met or exceeded.
  • Manage Rental team response time, both collectively and individually, to ensure internal/external customers are properly and promptly supported.
  • Interact with rental customers to understand their needs and address any issues/concerns with Raymond West's provided level of service.
  • Ensure Rental Department compliance with internal/external processes and provide the Rental Manager recommendations for corrective action associated with non-compliance.
  • Audit day-to-day rental operations, to include rental orders, rental agreements, deliveries, pick-ups, and invoicing. Conduct analysis to determine root cause for deficiencies and take corrective action to address both the current situation and to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist Rental Manager in developing and implementing business strategies to control costs and increase revenue.
  • Assist Rental Manager in the development/execution of strategic planning initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Rental Department overall.
  • Serve as the primary Rental Department point of contact to other Raymond West departments, to include Sales, Field Service, Shops, Logistics, Parts, Credit, Collections, and Accounting in order to ensure efficient/effective business operations and customer satisfaction.
  • As directed, participate in current management meetings to discuss/address performance metrics and operational challenges.
  • As directed, provide guidance and oversight to the Rental maintenance, power, customer damage, audit, Samsara GPS, and other programs.
  • Serve in the role of Rental Manager in his/her absence.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience.

  • High school diploma
  • Highly preferred: 5 years related industry experience to include supervisory duties, training, or customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel Requirement:

  • Ability to travel as necessary for offsite meetings or associated activities; typically, around 5% of time.
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

Pay Range:

  • The salary range for this position is $68,300 - $91,000. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
